1. Claude can write and run code: Anthropic has enhanced Claude with a new JavaScript code sandbox feature, available in preview mode for all users. This real-time code execution capability strengthens Claude's data processing and analysis capabilities, particularly for CSV file handling. It’s designed to help teams with anything from marketing and sales analytics to product management, engineering metrics, and financial dashboard creation.

2. A feature worth a thousand words: Midjourney, the popular AI image generator, introduced a new edit feature that lets users modify existing images with AI. You can change styles, like turning vintage photos into anime, or edit specific parts of an image. Right now, it's only available to users with over 10,000 generated images or long-term subscribers.

2. TSMC pulled off an unexpected win: At its new Arizona facility, chip production yields are 4 percentage points higher than in Taiwan - a key factor for profitability. This is a major achievement, especially considering the earlier setbacks to the project. It also represents a big step forward for U.S. efforts to revitalize domestic semiconductor manufacturing.

4. Rumors are swirling about a potential new OpenAI model, named Orion. More on that below.

• Make sure you select Claude 3.5 Sonnet as your model and turn on the artifact feature.

• Give it a prompt to create a quiz app: "Create a quiz app about [enter details]."

• Wait for Claude to process your data and generate the quiz app.

• You can edit details, change colors, and add new data to your existing quiz.

OpenAI Reportedly Prepares for Landmark "Orion" Launch, Sam Altman Hits Back

According to a report from The Verge, OpenAI is gearing up for a big launch with its new model, Orion, expected to debut by December 2024. This one’s set to be a game-changer, reportedly up to 100 times more powerful than GPT-4. But unlike previous releases, Orion will be available only to select partner companies at first. Microsoft is already on board and could start hosting it on Azure as early as November. Here’s more:

• Training for Orion apparently wrapped up in September, with OpenAI celebrating the milestone internally.

• Around the same time, CEO Sam Altman hinted at something big, posting a cryptic message about “winter constellations,” likely a nod to Orion’s arrival.

• The release could come on ChatGPT’s 2nd Birthday

• The model’s development is also happening during a period of big organizational shifts at OpenAI, including a hefty funding boost and the recent exit of some key executives, like CTO Mira Murati.

But OpenAI CEO Sam Altman hit back in a comment on X, calling the report “fake news out of control.“ It remains to be seen how The Verge responds to the allegation.
